Welcome to the ChocolateClash forum.
Usage & Rules
This forum is for discussing and governing the ChocolateClash player tracking and ban system, for the English-speaking Clash of Clans war farming leagues.
Rules:
- Be respectful
- Use common sense
- Keep discussions on topic and meaningful
- More to be added as needed
Appeals
If you are here to appeal a ban:
- If your ban says (Legacy):
- You are banned by both "sides" because your ban was issued before this forum existed
- If you're trying to join an FWA clan, appeal at https://band.us/@appeals
- If you're trying to join a non-FWA clan, appeal on this form, following instructions below
- Please see the note* below
- If your ban says (FWA):
- If your ban says (General):
- Appeal on this forum, following instructions below
*Note: If you have a legacy ban, appealing at one place will not completely unban you. However, FWA clans are allowed to take General-banned players, and non-FWA clans are allowed to take FWA-banned players, so after your appeal clears the body that you wish to join, you're fine. If, on the other hand, you wish to completely clear your record, rather than just join a particular clan, unfortunately you will need to appeal both on this forum and in Band.
To appeal a General flag, follow the instructions under Registration below, and then make a post under the Ban Appeal tag category. See the pinned post in the Ban Appeals category for more information. Please check your appeal regularly and respond to any questions admins may ask in response.
Anyone with access (linking) to a Clash account may appeal on behalf of that account, but only they can do so (clan leaders cannot appeal on behalf of their members). Please read the multi-account section below if it applies. If an appeal is rejected, there is a minimum wait of 90 days before the account can have another appeal.
Ban appeals will be resolved based on consensus; see Governance below.
Registration
Click the sign-up link in the corner. You will need to verify your email address and link at least one Clash account before you are able to participate in this forum. Anyone with access to any Clash account participating in English-speaking farm wars has a right to express an opinion on this forum.
Multi-Account Note
One forum account can link any number of Clash accounts, and one Clash account can be linked by any number of forum accounts. Note: Both using emulators to create Clash accounts and giving others access to your Clash account are against the Supercell Terms of Service. However, since this body has no way of arbitrating or enforcing Supercell account ownership disputes, this policy is so we can address the reality that accounts are sometimes benignly shared.
In accordance with this, for the purpose of appeals, if someone else on your account does something bad, it is still your account's fault and your account still deserves the ban, regardless of how innocent you are. Therefore, if you did not take the action that caused a ban on a shared account, you are strongly recommended to not appeal that action, because your words will not be able to assure us whether you understand the issue or whether it will happen again.
Creating multiple forum accounts is not allowed, and sharing access to your forum account is not allowed. If forum account misuse is detected, you will be blocked from participating in the forums.
Leagues
Here is a list of leagues tracked by the ChocolateClash system, along with their status in this body.
Farm War Alliance (FWA): Official.
Orange League (OL):
Griffin Farmers (GF): Defunct, no clans in system.
1945 FWL: Official.
δΈζθη (BZLM):
N League & G League: Defunct, no clans in system.
Official means they are a member league in this system. Informational means they are tracked by the system only.
Forum Usage
Users must have both a verified email and a linked Clash account before creating or replying to threads. All information posted to this forum is public and visible without logging in.
Tags are categories that posts can be in. Ban Appeals are hidden from the main page (for anti-clutter reasons). Discussion are policy discussions that can affect how the system works going forwards. Info threads are long-lived informational threads. To see ban appeals, click the button in the sidebar.
Groups are badges that users can have. Aside from the Sysadmin and Moderator groups, the Head and individual league groups are for league admins and are only informational, they do not confer any forum abilities. For now, I won't assign moderators, this may change depending on activity in this forum (honestly I expect there to be almost none).
After starting a thread or writing a reply, you can edit it only for the next 10 minutes. Only you can edit posts you write (admin editing is turned off). Please keep posts informative - use this like a forum, not like a chatroom, and try not to post multiple replies in a row.
Feel free to make a few test posts to try out the system. You can delete your own posts. Posts support Markdown for formatting, and also file/image uploading. Uploads are saved to my server and capped at 2MB per file, please do not abuse this.
Governance
If you have a feature suggestion, complaint, comment, political issue, request for adding/removing a league, etc, please make a thread under Discussion. I will closely monitor this forum and, if I determine that there is a consensus for a particular change which I can implement, I will strongly consider implementing it.
A consensus will not be found before a minimum of 24 hours after a post is made, to give everyone a chance to see it and compose a reply. However, note that this means if nobody replies, a consensus for the change implicitly exists, so be sure to monitor the forums if you care about the future state of the system.
Please refer to the Wikipedia philosophy on consensus for a precise definition of consensus, especially noting how consensus is not a majority vote. Liking posts and writing replies are things you should do if you have a strong opinion on matters discussed on this forum.
If you have a private complaint or suggestion, I will hear it, but if it contradicts anyone else's opinions, as long as those other opinions aren't beyond-a-reasonable-doubt unreasonable, I will have to ask you to argue it with them, instead of becoming the conduit for said argument. This policy is to ensure that the conditions that caused the last kerfuffle, see History, cannot happen again. This forum is a public place suited for having those arguments, but other places may suffice - my bottom line is that I'm not personally the one defending your opinion to other people when I don't strongly believe, and don't want to take the burden of properly explaining, those opinions.
In the unfortunate event that there is a consensus that some change is required, but not a consensus on what particular change, I will decide what happens. I might flip a coin.
